About this work
Pittsburgh 1985 shows heavy vertical forms set on a dark ground. The shapes press forward and leave little space between them. Richard Serra built his practice around weight, balance and the pull of gravity on a surface.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The print arrives ready to hang. A metal hanger is fitted to the back and goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need to buy a separate frame. The matte paper keeps the dark tones flat and stops glare from a ceiling light.
It suits a long hallway with wide steps. From the landing the solid forms read as one dark mass. Closer, near the turn, you see the edge where one shape meets the next.
