Plaza Real - 1988 opens with a wide band of washed paint across an open field. Helen Frankenthaler lays colour over a thin ground in her colour field work. The paint spreads in loose bands and leaves soft edges where it meets the sheet.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The fine art print sits flat against the back panel so the washed colour reads as one flat surface. When the ready to hang option is used it arrives assembled and ready to place on a wall.

On a narrow kitchen wall the broad painted field fills the strip between two cabinets. From the door you see the soft colour edges, and closer you notice where the paint thins out near the edge.
