Pomegranates by John Singer Sargent — Fine Art

Pomegranates shows two bright red fruit hanging from a branch against a plain ground. The fruit fill the page. Their skins hold a deep red tone. Leaves curl at the edges. Watercolour washes hold the shapes together. John Singer Sargent painted the scene with quick, confident strokes.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The print sits on a matte sheet so the reds stay flat and the leaves read soft. A light frame on a dark wall keeps the fruit in view. A dark frame on a pale wall does the same. The frame finish can follow the room.

In a kitchen, the fruit hang above the sink. From the doorway you see the red shapes against the wall. The light from the window lands on the leaves.
