Profound Longing — Fine Art

Profound Longing by Hans Hofmann uses strong painted fields that push and pull against each other. Broad brushes lay down colour with clear pressure and speed, so the surface reads as a record of motion. The title asks for a feeling, and the painted marks give it shape.

A fine art print keeps those painted gestures plain. The paper is matte, which lets the darker tones stay deep without glare. A white, wood, dark wood or black frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall.

It fits a study above a desk where you work for long stretches. From the chair you see the broad colour blocks first, then the brush direction. The frame finish you choose sits quietly beside the painted field.
