Rankin — Fine Art

Rankin - 1979 by John Hoyland opens on a balanced painted field where broad strokes press into a worked ground. The shapes hold their own and the eye finds the centre first.

This fine art print carries the original colours without a sheen. The hanger on the back fixes straight onto a nail, so the sheet goes up on the wall without a separate frame.

On a bedroom wall away from the desk it reads as a calm mass of paint over a long stretch of wall. From the doorway you notice the hard edges and the cool tone.
