About this work
Reflections I - 1995 shows thin washes of colour spread across an open ground, a soak stain approach Helen Frankenthaler used in her practice. The paint runs across the sheet and leaves soft edges where the colour meets the bare surface.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The white frame gives this image a clear edge on the wall. The clean border keeps the washed colour from bleeding into the room and lets the open ground hold the eye.
Tuck this print in a bedroom on the wall beside the bed. The big colour shapes read from the pillow, and the thin painted lines stay visible when you sit up in the morning. The white frame edge holds the picture in place against the painted wall.
