Reflections III — Fine Art

A thin wash of colour spreads across the sheet in Reflections III - 1995. Helen Frankenthaler laid paint into a soaked ground so the edges stay open. The field reads as a broad colour plane with quiet transitions between the tones.

The fine art print sits on a pale wall, with the frame finish chosen to match the wood of the shelf below. A light frame on a dark wall keeps the painted surface visible without a bright reflection.

A reading corner with a low lamp shows the smooth colour field and the open edges. From the doorway the broad tone reads first, then the small shifts between the layers.
