About this work
Relief, Series B - 1967 by Charlotte Posenenske shows a set of rectangular forms laid across the page. The shapes carry a neutral tone and sit with clear spacing between them. You can read the layout from far away, then notice the clean edges up close.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The work comes from the artist practice of making small relief pieces with simple geometry. A white frame gives the picture a sharp edge on the wall and keeps the rectangles clear against the wall.
A wood frame softens the contrast and lets the forms rest without too much edge. A black frame adds a firm boundary that matches the strict layout. It works on a long hallway wall where you pass it each day.
