Rocks by Edward Hopper

Sun-bleached boulders sit half in shadow. Hopper’s *Rocks* holds the frame with quiet insistence, as if the tide has just receded and the light is still deciding where to land. The foreground rock is a slab of ochre veined with charcoal, its surface cracked like old parchment. Behind it, smaller stones huddle in cobalt shade.
