Similmente — Fine Art

Similmente - Spatialism shows a flat field with shallow relief built into the surface. Enrico Castellani pressed and lifted the ground to make light move over the picture. The surface holds small changes in height that catch light from one side. fine art paper carries the image with a matte face and no gloss.

The frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. White, wood, dark wood and black finishes sit against the relief surface. The frame edge keeps the raised ground from disappearing into the wall behind it.

In a study, you notice the light shift as you pass the wall. From the desk you see the shallow marks change with the lamp. The room feels steady around the picture.
