About this work
Buildings rise in thin vertical lines against a bright yellow ground. Skyscrapers on Transparent Yellow 1929 keeps the shapes simple and the colour clear. The picture reads as a row of towers seen from a distance, with empty space around them. The work belongs to the Bauhaus colour studies tradition.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. A black frame makes the yellow ground stay bright and gives the buildings a sharp outline. A wood frame softens the contrast and lets the yellow feel warmer.
Hang it in a dining room over a table. From the doorway you see the tall shapes first, then the yellow ground. Near the plate rack the thin buildings catch the light. The picture stays calm while dinner happens nearby.
