A hillside slopes into a valley. Dieter Roth’s *Small Landscape* is drawn in a single, restless sitting.
The paper holds a grid of faint pencil lines, then a wash of ochre and umber that bleeds beyond the ruled borders. Trees are quick vertical strokes, their tops blurred as if seen through rain. A path zigzags downhill, its edges frayed by the artist’s eraser. The sky is left blank, the white of the sheet standing in for daylight.
Hang it above a narrow console where the ochre echoes a wooden frame or a ceramic vase, letting the quiet marks breathe.
