About this work
A wash of colour opens from the left and thins as it moves right, leaving a wide blank field to the side. Smalls Paradise, 1964- by Helen Frankenthaler keeps the painted part near one edge and lets the rest stay open. The eye enters at the stronger side and drifts across the empty ground.
This fine art print is set in a frame with a back panel. The paper is matte, so the thin paints keep their even tone and do not shine back under a lamp. When the ready to hang option is chosen, the frame arrives assembled on the wall.
It fits on a bedroom wall near a low drawer. From the bed you see the painted band first and the open area beyond, with the frame edge keeping the picture clear.
