Snow — Fine Art

Snow - 1970 by Dieter Roth shows white shapes stacked on a darker ground. Across the room the forms read as blocks of tone. Up close the surface holds uneven marks and small shifts in colour. The image stays quiet and simple.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The white frame gives the print a clear edge on the wall. Against the pale shapes the white finish keeps the line soft and does not cut the lighter parts. The frame keeps the picture contained without drawing attention away from the marks.

In a bedroom, the white frame blends with the trim and the pale shapes sit calmly on the feature wall near the bed. From the doorway you read the broad white shapes first, then the small dark marks as you draw nearer.
