Soaring I — Fine Art

Soaring I - 1994 shows broad painted bands of colour set over a plain ground. The bands cross the picture from one side to the other. Some edges are crisp, some are softer where the paint thins out. The title points to movement across a flat surface.

The fine art print uses a matte paper that keeps the paint colours from shining under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall lets the painted bands stand apart from the room behind them.

On a bedroom wall near the head of the bed, the painted bands sit above the bedside table. You notice the colour shifts at night when the lamp is low.
