Spam — Fine Art

Spam by Andy Warhol shows tin letters stacked in rows on a plain field. The red and yellow sit close together and the white gaps keep the shapes separate. The lettering reads flat, like a print made from a stencil. You see the repeated marks and the plain ground before you notice any detail.

The fine art print sits inside a frame with a back panel. It arrives assembled when you use the ready to hang option. The paper stays matte, so the red and yellow keep their flat tone and the surface does not shine under a lamp.

Hang it on a plain bedroom wall above a bed. From the side you read the stacked words first. Step closer and the hard edges of each letter become clear.
