Square Form — Fine Art

Square Form by Ellsworth Kelly shows one solid colour shape set against a plain background. The square band is cut with a hard edge and the surrounding field stays empty. You see the contrast between the filled area and the blank space. The picture follows the colour field practice of postwar abstract painting.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The frame finish is white, wood, dark wood or black and you choose the one that suits the room. The frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall.

It works above a dining table where you sit and look across the room. From the chair you see the big square shape and the plain ground around it. The white frame keeps the edge sharp under the overhead light.
