Stars 5 Pointed — Fine Art

Stars 5 Pointed uses black pencil marks arranged in five pointed star shapes. The lines sit on a white ground and repeat in a steady rhythm across the sheet. Sol LeWitt worked in a conceptual art practice that built images from rules and systems.

fine art paper arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back. You put the picture onto a nail or screw and it sits flat on the wall. The matte surface keeps the black marks soft and avoids a shine under a lamp.

In a narrow stairwell the repeated stars catch the eye as you climb. From the bottom step the shapes read as a set of simple forms. Near the landing the pencil lines show their small shifts in pressure.
