Still Life 6 — Fine Art

Still Life 6 places a few objects on a plain ground. Henri Matisse built the scene from simple shapes and flat colour. The ground and the objects sit close together without much detail. Each form keeps its own shape and does not blend into the next.

The fine art print sits on a wall that gets even light through the day. A light frame on a dark wall lets the colour areas stay clear. A dark frame on a pale wall does the same for the darker forms. The paper stays matte so the flat colour does not shine back.

It works on the wall above the desk in a study. From the chair you notice the edge of each shape and the space between them. The steady layout gives the corner a quiet hold.
