About this work
Still Life Dedicated to Andre Salmon 1915 shows a table corner built from clear outlined planes and connected shapes. A guitar, a glass and a bottle sit on a brown ground. The marks hold their own weight across the painted surface.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black and gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. A white frame keeps the brown ground open. A dark wood frame sits hard against the outlined shapes and does not soften them.
It works on a kitchen wall near the sink, where you see the big colour blocks from the doorway and the thin outlines from the table. The shapes stay readable without detail. You notice the space between the objects more than the objects themselves.
