About this work
Study for Homage to the Square Terrassed Foliage 1960 sets a square motif inside a larger shape on the sheet. Josef Albers worked with flat colour bands and nested forms to study how hues change side by side. The image reads as a measured practice drawing rather than a finished picture.
This fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel and arrives assembled when the ready to hang option is used. The paper stays matte so the colour edges do not throw shine around the room.
It hangs on a bedroom wall above the dresser. From the doorway the nested shapes hold the eye, and near the bed the small marks in the corners become clear.
