Tambourine with Pansies

Tambourine with Pansies holds a small instrument and a cluster of flowers on one surface. Vincent van Gogh used short brush marks and bold colour to build the shapes.

The pansies fill the upper part and the tambourine rests below, with each petal laid in separate strokes. The marks press hard into the paper and leave a rough texture behind. This fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel.

You can see the paint marks clearly through the glass. A hall wall with a steady lamp works well. The round flowers catch the light from the side and the frame sits at shoulder height.
