The Berlioz House — Fine Art

The Berlioz House by Maurice Utrillo shows a low Paris building with a narrow front and a few windows. The paint is laid in thick patches of white and grey, with the roof built up by hand.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. You can see the same street scene style that runs through much of his work. The print sits in a frame with a back panel and hangs ready to place on a wall.

The matte paper keeps the soft greys from shining under a lamp. The thick paint patches stay visible because the paper does not flatten them out. It works on the wall beside a kitchen sink where you notice the window light on the building each morning.
