About this work
The Church in Prerow 1911 shows a small church standing in an open landscape. Alexej von Jawlensky painted the scene with broad brushwork and flat colour fields. The forms are simple and the surface reads as painted strokes rather than detail.
The fine art print comes ready to hang. The frame is available in white, wood, dark wood or black. Each finish sets a clear edge around the image. A dark or black frame keeps the painted tones separate from the surrounding room.
You can hang it in a hallway where the light moves across the surface during the day. The church form reads clearly from the door, and the brush marks become visible when you pass by.
