About this work
The Final End 1992 by Edward Ruscha deals with a painted word on a plain field, a subject he returned to for years. The letters run across the surface in a steady hand, pressed down with even weight.
The fine art frame comes in white, wood, dark wood and black, and the edge it gives this picture holds the painted word in a clear line on the wall. Pick the black finish and the frame sits close to the black lettering, so the word feels held rather than pushed off.
It fits well over a pale wall in a bedroom, where the word reads first thing in the morning light. From the bed you see the letters across the sheet, and from the door you see the frame edge holding the shape.
