The House of Pere Lacroix in Auvers — Fine Art

The House of Pere Lacroix in Auvers shows a house with white walls and a dark roof set in trees. Paul Cezanne painted the square forms with separate strokes of paint. The scene rests on a sloping ground with a patch of sky above.

The fine art frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. A white frame keeps the line sharp and the grey sky stays open. A wood frame warms the greens. A dark wood frame deepens the tree shadows. A black frame holds the bold shapes.

In a dining room the white walls of the house read first. From the table you see the roof line. The short marks become clear when you pass by the wall.
