The Red Poppy

The red poppy by Odilon Redon is a single flower held by soft pastel and charcoal work. A warm red petal shape rises against a cool grey ground. The red reads loud and the grey keeps it calm.

This fine art piece sits inside a frame finished in white, wood, dark wood or black. The frame finish gives the picture a clean edge on the wall and holds the red subject in place.

It looks right on a bedroom wall near a reading lamp. The red poppy stands out in the evening light while the grey ground stays quiet.
