The Road and the Tree by Andre Derain — Fine Art

The Road and the Tree by Andre Derain shows a path leading through a stand of trees. Broad blocks of colour push the scene forward, and the painted lines keep a strong outline around each form. The picture stays with you because the shapes hold their place.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The frame finishes the picture with a clear edge on the wall. White, wood, dark wood or black each give a different line around the image.

It works well in a dining room where people pass in the evening. From the table you see the broad colour blocks first, and the tree trunks stay readable. The frame edge keeps the scene from spreading into the rest of the room.
