The Vicarage Garden — Fine Art

The Vicarage Garden shows a garden yard with patches of grass and small plants, built from short quick strokes of paint. Vincent van Gogh works the brush in layers across the ground and the beds. The marks follow the lines of the path and the beds.

The fine art print uses a matte paper so the paint strokes stay soft and the green tones do not shine under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall keeps the garden colours clear, or a dark frame on a pale wall makes the short strokes stand apart.
