The White Hyacinth

The White Hyacinth - 1984 shows a single white flower stem standing on a plain painted ground. A few loose petals hang near the top. The stem reaches up and leaves a clear line against the background. Mary Fedden painted the flower simply, with one main colour and a quiet shape.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The print arrives ready to hang with a metal hanger fitted to the back. You place it straight onto a nail or screw and it stays on the wall without a frame.

On a hallway wall below a mirror the stem reads as a tall white line from the landing. Step closer and the small paint marks at the head of the flower show up plain. You see the simple shape first, then the small details.
