Tischmatte, Bali-Mosfellssveit — Fine Art

Tischmatte, Bali-Mosfellssveit - 1996 shows a table mat set against a plain field. Dieter Roth often used everyday objects as the subject of a painting. The picture keeps the object simple and lets the surrounding space do most of the work. Browns and greys sit close together on the surface.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte finish keeps the flat colours steady under indoor light. You get the object and the ground as one solid image without extra shine.

It fits on a kitchen wall near the table. From the doorway you notice the mat shape first, and the quiet ground behind it.
