Tower Falls, Yellowstone — Fine Art

Tower Falls Yellowstone opens on a steep rock face and a tall column of water dropping into a narrow gorge. Thomas Moran built the picture with firm strokes and a quiet wash of grey and blue tones across the stone. The water runs straight down the page, and the stone walls press in on both sides.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The paper is matte, so the cool greys stay flat and the water shape does not pick up a shine under a lamp.

Above a desk in a study, the deep cut of the gorge reads as a single vertical band against the wall. From the doorway you take in the dark rock line first, then the falling water on the right.
