About this work
A single tree stands on a yellow ground in Tree Against a Yellow Background 1901. The trunk rises straight while the branches spread across the top.
The yellow field is flat and the tree stays dark against it. Odilon Redon worked in pastel and charcoal and often drew plant forms and solitary figures. This fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel and arrives assembled when you choose the ready to hang option.
The frame keeps the yellow field steady and the back panel holds the print flat on the wall. A hallway wall with a plain coat hook works well here. From the end of the corridor you see the tree shape first, then the yellow ground fills the space between the hooks.
