Twilight

Twilight - 1950 shows a soft dark field fading to a pale band at the top edge. The paint sits in broad bands with edges that blur into the paper. Alfred Manessier worked with these kinds of colour shifts in his later paintings.

The object is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The paper stays matte, so the grey tones stay even when a lamp sits nearby.
