Untitled - 1959 sets down broad fields of colour side by side, with edges that do not line up cleanly. The blocks sit on the sheet without a hard border between them. You notice the flat tones first, then the uneven joins. The work reads as a few quiet sections placed next to each other.

The fine art print is ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The paper stays matte, so the colour blocks keep their flat look and the joins do not catch a glare.

It suits a stairwell with late light coming from one side. From the landing you see the colour blocks as simple shapes, and on the step below you see the soft joins between them.
