About this work
Untitled 1961 by Henri Michaux uses a narrow band of marks running across a plain ground. The eye enters on the left and moves toward a lighter area on the right. The top half stays open, so the drawn lines carry the weight.
You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The paper is matte, which lets the greys sit without shine under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall keeps the background calm, while a dark frame on a pale wall gives the line work more pull.
It sits on the landing wall beside the coat hooks, where the long corridor light draws out the pencil lines at a mid distance. The empty top area gives the narrow marks room to breathe.
