About this work
Untitled - 1961 by Ray Parker shows a field of bright colour broken by thin black lines. The lines cross the picture in a few directions and leave parts of the ground open. Ray Parker worked in a hard edge style, building colour areas against clear boundaries.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The white frame gives the image a clean edge on the wall. With this frame the dark lines stay separate from the room around them.
In a small kitchen, the bright colour reads first from the table, then the thin black lines appear when you stand by the door.
