Untitled - 1971 shows a painted field where the eye enters near the centre and follows the gathered paint toward the edges.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The heavy marks sit low, with much of the sheet left open. Simon Hantai worked with folded canvas and pressed pigment across his practice.

The frame finish can follow the room: a light frame on a dark wall, a dark frame on a pale wall, or a wood frame beside wooden furniture. Hang it on a hallway wall a little above the door, under a single bulb, and the pooled paint draws you inward while the empty zones stay quiet.
