Untitled Black and Orange — Fine Art

Three broad black bands sit across a warm orange sheet in Untitled Black and Orange - 1988. The paint covers the field without thin lines. The shapes stay heavy and even. Gunther Forg worked with paint on canvas in this late post war abstract style.

The fine art print uses a matte sheet, so the orange stays flat under a ceiling light and the black bands do not glare. A light frame on a dark wall keeps the edges clear and the picture reads as one flat shape.

It hangs on the stairwell wall, halfway up the flight. From the bottom step you see the orange field and the black blocks, and the frame finish follows the paint tones.
