About this work
Vertical strokes of orange and yellow rise through the sheet in Untitled Columns of Fire - 1956. The marks sit close together and push upward in a steady rhythm.
This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. Theodoros Stamos worked with bold colour and simple forms, and this image follows that way of painting. The paper is matte, so the warm tones stay flat and do not shine under a lamp.
A metal hanger is fitted to the back and goes straight onto a nail or screw. You can hang it without buying a separate frame. It sits well on a kitchen wall near the window, where the light catches the top of each column.
