Untitled No. 17 — Fine Art

Two broad painted fields sit stacked on the sheet in Untitled No. 17 - 1961 by Mark Rothko. The upper field carries a warm reddish tone, and the lower band holds a darker reddish hue. The painted edges blur into the sheet, so the shapes do not read as hard rectangles.
