Untitled Purple Pink and Blue — Fine Art

Untitled Purple Pink and Blue by Luis Feito holds broad strokes of colour across a pale ground. The paint stays loose and the brush pressure changes from one mark to the next. Luis Feito worked in a postwar abstract style where gesture and colour sit on the same plane.

The fine art print sits on a wall with a light frame on a dark surface or a dark frame on a pale wall. The matte paper keeps the purple and pink areas soft so the room light does not add shine.

In a hallway with a narrow strip of light from a side room, the purple marks read first and the blue tones step back. You notice the uneven edge of each stroke before you reach the door.
