About this work
Untitled Red Painting - 1960 uses a broad red field with lighter red and white passages across the canvas. The eye starts in the middle and moves toward the edges where the paint thins.
Empty areas sit beside the denser marks. Brett Whiteley worked with bold colour and a loose hand in this period. The fine art print keeps those soft red edges and the pale gaps clearly.
A light frame on a dark wall lets the red stay forward without fading. Hang it on a kitchen wall near a sink where the morning light comes in low. You see the thick red band first, then the faint white lines beside the paint.
