Untitled SF-315 — Fine Art

Untitled SF-315 by Sam Francis opens on a pale ground with thin washes of blue and red. The paint sits in separate areas, leaving white space between the shapes. The marks look like they were laid down quickly, one after the other. You can see where the brush moved through the wet paint.

The print comes ready to hang with a fine art print process that keeps the edges sharp. A light frame on a dark wall keeps the white space open, and the thin washes stay readable from a standing height.

It fits above a desk in a study. From the doorway you notice the blue shapes first, and when you step closer the red lines sit beside them. The light from the desk lamp falls softly on the whole surface.
