Untitled SF143S — Fine Art

Untitled SF143S by Sam Francis opens on a pale ground with loose colour spreads and small marks scattered across it. The paint sits in thin layers, leaving white space around the shapes.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. Sam Francis works with open colour washes in a post war abstract painting practice. The black frame gives this image a clear edge on the wall.

The dark finish keeps the soft washes from fading into the background. A hallway wall picture where the small marks show from the bend in the corridor. From the landing you notice the white gaps first, then the colour spreads follow.
