Untitled SFE 092 — Fine Art

Untitled SFE 092 keeps a wide open field of white with colour washes laid in broad layers. The paint spreads outward and leaves pale gaps between the wet edges. Sam Francis worked with thin washes that stay soft on the paper.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. A white frame runs around the edge and gives the sheet a clean line against the wall. The white finish does not darken the pale tones and the picture reads with a flat, even border.

Hang it in a dining room where the light lands from one side. From the table you see the open washes first and the thin paint edges show when you stand near the wall.
