About this work
Vega 200 - 1968 by Victor Vasarely uses a grid of white and black steps that shift into a curve. The bands read as one flat surface from far away. At arm length the edges break into separate blocks. The work follows the optical colour work Vasarely built in the 1960s.
This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. When the ready to hang option is chosen it arrives assembled. The matte surface holds the sharp black lines without a shine under a lamp.
On a hallway wall the stepping bands run along the length of the passage. From the staircase you see the curve as a single shape. Standing near the door you can count the separate blocks.
