Velvet Underground & Nico — Fine Art

Velvet Underground and Nico shows a yellow-and-orange face looking straight out. The eyes are large and the lips are wide, painted in flat colour. The picture comes from the pop art period, when Andy Warhol made screen prints of people and objects. One simple face fills the sheet.

The fine art paper holds the flat colour without shine. A light frame keeps the bright orange easy to see on a darker wall, and a dark frame makes the yellow pop on a pale wall. You can match the frame to the wood near the wall.

A long hallway wall works well. Hang it at eye level, so the face meets your gaze. Step back and the yellow and orange sit solid against the wall. Move closer and the clean line of the jaw catches the light.
