Venetian Canal by John Singer Sargent — Fine Art

Venetian Canal shows a waterway with buildings along the far bank. John Singer Sargent often painted such scenes with quick strokes and watercolour washes. The picture keeps the blue water and warm stone shapes clear without too much detail.

This fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel. The matte paper keeps the blue tones steady and stops a bright glare under a lamp.

On the landing wall at the top of the stairs, the blue water line sits low while the warm stone stays above it. From the foot of the stairs you catch the building shapes first.
