About this work
View of Meknes Morocco shows a Moroccan town seen from a distance, with pale walls, narrow streets and a bright sky. Theo van Rysselberghe painted the scene with small dots and short strokes, a pointillist painting practice common in his neo impressionist style.
The fine art print uses a matte paper surface, so the light greys and warm tones stay even and there is no shine under a lamp. You can choose a frame finish that follows the room, such as a light frame on a dark wall or a wood frame beside wooden furniture.
It looks balanced on a dining room wall near the table. From the doorway you read the town shapes and the pale sky, while standing closer you notice the short colour strokes on the walls and the quiet road.
